  4. thinner is better, heats faster.. try using a A.C. evaporator from a car.
    works great, and focus the beam at it (the many fins of alum.. act as a
    good heat sink.

  7. i love it. i’m thinking of doing something similar this summer but instead
    of an oil can i want to encase the heat exchange element in a butane or
    propane container (thicker steel) with the space filled with silica sand.
    the sand stores the heat while exposed to the sun and releases it back to
    the element when the sun is out. good project. congratulations!
