  2. The big thing missing here is magnitude. My sports car produces the same
amount of peak power that 37,000 ft^2 of solar panels could produce at the
equator at noon on a cloudless day. That would be about 3/4 of a football
field of solar panels. At $100 per ft ^2 it would cost 3.7 million dollars
for a system that only lasts 17 years if they avoid hail. But it gets
better, the farther you are from the equator the less energy is available
and they produce no energy at night. The only viable replacement for fossil
fuel is magnitudes higher energy on the Weak Nuclear Force level. I would
suggest Thorium in the LFTR configuration. Remember coal , oil and natural
gas is stored solar energy. Live solar power will NEVER replace fossil

  3. Solar and lifepo4 batteries are the way to go. Have been off grid for 17
weeks or so. The lithium phosphate cells work so well with solar. absorbing
energy way way above AGM or Flooded Lead Acid. Making them idea for the
cloudy days. If your thinking about going solar check out the lifepo4
batteries! same type they use in the Tesla Model S

  4. LOLOLOL solar panels can NOT compete with a Coal, Oil, or gas furnaces. Do
you know how hot Oil burns? Do you know how much heat is given off? How
much water can be boiled? The enegry density is so great, meanwhile people
are “harvesting” energy with solar panels over huge areas. How much power
do you get per unit area? It’s not that much, and not when you need it
most. Mark my words, it will fail.

  5. Nice, but try to live with that power source every day. The cost will kill
you. It’s Ok for weekend house deep in the woods…

Anyone that stands in their way will be wiped out by whatever means

  8. The oil companies are fighting to keep solar away from the world, they have
held us prisoners for far too long. If the makers of these panels can bring
them to the market a lot cheaper than they are now, it would change the
    world especially the poorer nations

  10. I know a guy in the UK who pays about 100 pounds a month to the power
company but every 3 months gets a cheque for 1200 pounds because he pushes
overage back into the grid from his average size system,.

  12. Hey Pete
I have been watching and got the feeling you need a Phd in engineering
and electrical.. Looking at those panels of yours makes me think that I
need to go back to school or atleast a crash course.. And what about
inexpensive .. I have plans for a power generator that require no gas or
external energy.. Interseted?? You have to build it.. B

consumer, the state, the US and the planet……
The world needs to speed up its transition to safer, cleaner and cheaper
    alternative energy sources…….

“Lithium underpants”and used to re-heat noodles at tea time.
