  2. Does solar PV actually make sense? In other words, the cost to manufacture
    panels can be thought of as depositing money into an account with which one
    will pay for electricity for many years. The panels are really energy
    capacitors of a sort. You deposit a bunch of energy into them, and then
    you slowly get back that energy over time. Do you get back more than you
    put in to make them?

    Another way to pose the question is, I suppose, how many solar PV panel
    manufacturers install solar PV systems on their own facilities that are
    producing all the energy they need to manufacture the panels they make? If
    solar panel manufacturers don’t themselves use solar panels (energy), then
    it seems solar still doesn’t make economic sense.
